Scanners and phone apps often save some pages sideways or upside down. Rotating the view in your PDF reader only fixes it on your screen; the next person still sees the wrong orientation. Rotating the pages in the file itself fixes it for everyone.
How to rotate a PDF
- Open Rotate PDF.
- Select your file.
- Rotate the whole document, or enter specific page numbers to rotate only those.
- Download the corrected PDF.

Which way should I rotate?
- Text reads from bottom to top: rotate 90° clockwise.
- Text reads from top to bottom: rotate 90° anticlockwise (270°).
- Page is upside down: rotate 180°.
Rotate only some pages
Mixed documents are common: a report with one wide table, or a scan where only page 4 came out sideways. Entering just those page numbers keeps the rest of the document untouched.
Need more control?
Organize PDF shows every page as a thumbnail so you can rotate, reorder and delete pages visually in one place. If pages are mirrored rather than rotated, use Flip PDF.
Private and quick
Rotation happens in your browser. Your document is not uploaded and the quality of your pages does not change.
Prevent sideways scans next time
- Place every page the same way up on the scanner glass.
- In phone scanning apps, check the preview before saving.
- Turn off automatic orientation if it keeps guessing wrong on pages with little text.
