The favicon is the small icon in the browser tab, bookmarks and on a phone’s home screen when someone saves your site. A missing or blurry favicon makes a website look unfinished.

Design tips
- Keep it simple: at 16 pixels, detailed logos turn into a blur. Use a single letter or symbol.
- Start square: crop your logo to 1:1 first with Crop Image.
- High contrast: the icon should be visible on light and dark browser tabs.
- Start big: begin with an image of at least 512 x 512 px.
Adding a favicon in WordPress
Go to Appearance → Customize → Site Identity → Site Icon (or the Site Editor in block themes) and upload your 512 x 512 image. WordPress creates the other sizes for you.
