Iron-on transfers and some printing methods require a mirror image: the design is printed reversed so it reads correctly once it is pressed onto fabric. Flipping the PDF before printing makes that easy.
When to flip a PDF
- T-shirt and fabric transfers: designs with text must be mirrored before printing.
- Mirrored scans: fix pages that came out reversed from a scanner or app.
- Glass and window decals: printed to be read from the other side.
How to flip a PDF
- Open Flip PDF.
- Select your file.
- Choose left-to-right (horizontal) or top-to-bottom (vertical).
- Download the flipped PDF.

Flip vs rotate
Flipping creates a mirror image. Rotating turns the page without mirroring it. If your page is simply sideways or upside down, use Rotate PDF instead.
Printing tip for transfers
Check the instructions for your transfer paper. Some printer drivers also have a “mirror” option; if you flip the file and also turn that on, the two cancel out.
Working with an image instead? Use Rotate and Flip Image. All processing happens in your browser.
